BTC Up or Down: free Bitcoin prediction game in your browser
BTC Up or Down is a short-term Bitcoin prediction market: you pick whether Bitcoin will finish a round above or below its starting price, and the winning side pays $1 a share. BTC Up/Down lets you play it free in your browser with live BTC prices and $1,000 of play money, in the same 5-minute and 15-minute format traders know from Polymarket and Kalshi, plus ultra-short 5-second, 15-second, 30-second, 60-second and 2-minute rounds that prediction markets don't offer.
It's not a casino and not a broker. There's no deposit, no real-money betting, no sign-up and no affiliate links, which makes it a safe place for beginners, students and teachers to learn how fast Bitcoin markets work.
Play money only: BTC Up/Down is not real money
Everything you trade on BTC Up/Down is pretend. The $1,000 balance, every bet, every payout and every profit or loss are simulated and have no cash value.
- No deposits and no withdrawals. You can't add money, and you can't cash anything out.
- No prizes. Winning rounds doesn't earn anything except a bigger play-money balance.
- No real trades. No Bitcoin, shares or contracts are bought or sold on your behalf, on any exchange or prediction market.
- Real prices, simulated market. Bitcoin prices are live, but the Up and Down share prices come from our own model, not a real order book.
Results here don't predict how you would do with real money, where fees, spreads, slippage and your own emotions all work against you.
What is BTC Up or Down?
BTC Up or Down is a yes-or-no market on Bitcoin's direction over a short, fixed window. When the window opens, the market records Bitcoin's price. When it closes, UP shares pay $1 if BTC finished at or above that price and DOWN shares pay $1 if it finished below. Shares trade between 1¢ and 99¢ in between, and that price is the market's estimate of each side's chance.
Prediction markets list these contracts in windows from five minutes upward. They're popular because they're simple to understand, settle fast and run around the clock. That speed also makes them easy to overtrade, which is why practising first is worthwhile.

BTC Up or Down FAQ
What is BTC Up or Down?
BTC Up or Down is a short-term Bitcoin prediction market. Each round records a starting price, called the price to beat, and asks whether BTC will finish at or above it (UP) or below it (DOWN) when the round ends. Winning shares pay $1 and losing shares pay $0.
Is BTC Up/Down free?
Yes. You can play BTC Up or Down free in your browser, with no download, no sign-up, no deposit and no wallet.
Is this real money?
No. You start with $1,000 of play money and nothing can be deposited or withdrawn. It is a practice tool, so you can't win or lose real money.
Is this Polymarket or Kalshi?
No. BTC Up/Down is an independent simulator and is not affiliated with Polymarket or Kalshi. It copies the format of short-term Bitcoin Up or Down markets so you can practise, but the prices come from a model, not their order books.
Can I bet on more than one round length at once?
Yes. Every round length runs at the same time, so you can hold a 15-minute bet while playing 30-second rounds. Switching length never cancels a bet. Each one settles on its own clock and shows in Your open bets until it does.
When do the 5-minute and 15-minute rounds start?
On the clock. 5-minute rounds start at :00, :05, :10 and so on. 15-minute rounds start at :00, :15, :30 and :45. If you arrive mid-round you join the round already running, the same way the real markets work.
Is there a free 60-second Bitcoin game?
Yes. BTC Up/Down has free 5-second, 15-second, 30-second, 60-second and 2-minute Bitcoin Up or Down rounds on live prices, with no sign-up or deposit.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablet or desktop. There's nothing to install.
